We are constantly testing and looking for new materials, equipment or ideas that can offer measurable improvements in quality, service back-up and value engineering. We’ll never adopt novelties if we haven’t tested them before or if they haven’t proven a clear and efficient improvement.
Using integrated system software makes it possible to analyse any construction and design solution, to provide information about the weights, centres of gravity and costs, updating them simultaneously. By varying one figure, other significant parameters are recalculated instantly. The 3D design and finite element calculation software offers the opportunity to optimise the structures and to verify that the theoretical data effectively correspond to real ones during the various stages of construction.
At Zeydon, we are constantly searching and testing new materials to enable us to build lighter and stronger hulls. Therefore we incorporate carbon fibre in our hull construction to become unique high strength and low weight characteristics. And on the other hand we use Kevlar for its excellent impact resistant properties. We’ve concentrated much of our energy into analysing and testing different kinds of composite materials, creating this way an unrivalled database and developing know-how to ensure quality.
While weight saving is always an important issue, we can’t forget the fact that the essential qualities of our hulls are also strength, rigidity and durability.
Tanktests at the Southampton Institute gave us the opportunity to optimise the performance and the sea-keeping qualities of the hull and appendages of the “Z” series.
Having invested several thousands of Euros in high-tech machinery gives Zeydon the possibility to manufacture yacht equipment and tools to a standard of excellence few other competitors can match.
The “Z” series are built to high standards, using vacuum-infused epoxy/Corecell® laminates. Vacuum infusion technology properly executed makes a structure stronger and certainly makes it lighter. Its hull and deck are made out of advanced composite infusion epoxy E-glass/carbon fibre. We consider the production of ultra-modern sailing yachts, through an open-minded attitude towards design, clever engineering and with advanced composite materials as some of our major assets.
